O elenco de The Originals, o possível spin-off de Vampire Diaries, segue em formação. De acordo com o DEADLINE, os produtores contrataram Daniella Pineda (Homeland) para um papel regular na atração.

Pineda is Sophie, described as a witch and who exercises strong leadership, whose magic was muted (but still exists). She is urging the supernatural beings in search of a real revolution.
Written by Julie Plec (Vampire Diaries producer), The Originals will focus his narrative on Klaus, when he decides to return to New Orleans. The city is filled with supernatural beings, so he ends up reconnecting with his former protégé, Marcel.
The series already has the participation of Phoebe Tonkin, again as the werewolf Hayley and Daniel Gillies as Elijah returning.
The pilot episode will be shown on April 25, within the narrative of Vampire Diaries (as happened with The Bones in Finder). If the acceptance is satisfartória, The Originals will exit status from episode to turn in the CW series.
